The tip of the deputies tail twitched and she glared at it as she lay beneath the only shade in the camp by the Leaders den. Her pelt was slick with sweat and she then narrowed her eyes up at the hot sun. I am so not likeing this sunlight... She sighed and began to lick the salty sweat off her pelt but it didn't take away the heat. It actually felt worse. I should go run throught the territory... Her muscles wouldn't move though. She sighed again and lay her head on her paws, willing the heat and drought to go away.

The lithe black and brown tabby tom emerged silently from the cool leader's den, and his plae gray eyes scanned the camp. He spotted the Windclan deputy, Melodywind, sitting in the only shade of the Windclan camp-beneath his own den. Rabbitstar padded towards Melodywind with a friendly smile on his handsome face, his tail flicking to and fro. "Good afternoon, Melodywind" he said in greeting, his deep voice rumbling in his throat. He sat down next to the grooming she-cat, wrapping his neatly around his small paths. Like most Windclan cats, Rabbitstar was small and lean in build,. But to make up for that, he was very swift.

Nearly dying in the heat, Melodywind looked up from her useless grooming to graze her eyes upon none other than the WindClan leader himself. Rabbitstar always looked good to her. He dipped her head despite her irritation to the humidity. "Hello Rabbitstar. Do what do I owe this fantastic pleasure?" She sat up and emulated Rabbitstar, wrapping her own sweat drenched tail before her paws and looking him in the eye. I have to give off a good impression...

The dark tabby tom glanced down with a shrug, trying to hide a small smile at the deputy's question. His blue eyes then met hers, trying not to show the worry about the drought that has been going on. He was becoming very troubled, hoping that his medicine cat would get some sort of sign from Starclan about the heat and loss of water.

"Would you perhaps know why the drought is so bad this new leaf?" Melodywind asked, her voice coming out scratchy for it was drier than the Seirra Dessert. I have to get out of this heat... "I need water..." She suddenly felt faint. She stumbled sideways as her vision passed in and out and she lay herself gently back down. Way to go looking weak...

"No, but I really hope our medicine cat would get a sign from Starclan soon," Rabbitstar told Melodywind with a troubled tone of voice. Maybe we should go to the Moonstone to share tongues with Starclan, he thought to himself. The small tom then noticed Melodywind looking very faint, and leaped to his paws. "You'll be alright," hthe Windclan leader murmured quietly in her ear as she lay back down. "I'll get you some water." Quickly with heart pounding and his ears ringing," he raced out of the ditch tha was the Windclan camp. He was very thankful that a stream was very close by the camp. Rabbitstar quickly gather some clumps of moss and soaked them in the water for a little bit. He ten delicately picked the moss in his jaws and carried it back through the Windclan camp, careful not to waste any water. He then quickly laid the clumps of moss by the deputy's muzzle, gently touching her black nose with the tip of his long, black-tipped tail. "The water's here," he informed her quietly.

His voice came in and out of her thought process. She heard him leave and then return and she was more than thankful when he guided her no water soaked moss. She lapped at the moss eagerly wondering when the last time was that she had water. When she finished, she had her wits enough to open her eyes and gaze into his. "You just saved my life." She lifted her head weakly and licked his cheek before laying her head back down. He just saved my life...

Rabbitstar watched Melodywind anxiously as she lapped up the water from the water-soaked moss, thankful that she was at least well enough to do so. Watching the Windclan deputy made him realize even more about how serious this drought in the middle of newleaf was. He could lose cats from it, and that just made up Rabbitsars mind about his decision to go to the Highstones and share tongues with Starclan. He let out a little surprised mewr when he had licked his cheek, and then began to feel embarrassed about his reaction, but also pride. Rabbitsar crouched down next to Melodywind with a slight smile on his face, feeling relieved that he didn't loose her. "I would do anything to protect my Clan and clanmates," he whispered.

She was feeling slightly better as the cool water traveled down her dry throat and to her stomach. "I would do anything to protect my Clan and clanmates," She smiled at this and she felt special even if he wasn't talking about her specifically. "I owe you my life Rabbitstar. And yes, StarClan must be contacted."She agreed, looking into his eyes.

Rabbitstar watched the oddly-colored cat's reaction to what he had just told her, and for a fleeting moment, wanted to tell her something more heartfelt, but decided against it since he was Windclan's leader. Maybe when they were somewhere else moe private without any other cat listening in. The tabby tom put his long tail on Melodywind's flank with a slightly soft expression on his face, meeting her face with is own penetrating one. "And you shall be in charge when we go," he added quietly, not knowing what to say about his deputy's first comment. "But make please sure to get plenty of water and rest."
